OpenAI expands ChatGPT ads to more markets

ChatGPT Ads hits $1B run rate as OpenAI expands to more markets See how labeled ads, new tools, and broader reach can boost results

OpenAI said ChatGPT Ads has reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate less than 200 days after launch. The company also said the advertising platform is now used by tens of thousands of advertisers and is expanding into India, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa through Ads Manager. The post describes advertising as one part of OpenAI’s broader business, alongside consumer subscriptions, enterprise products, and APIs. OpenAI said the adsupported free tier helps keep ChatGPT available to more than 1 billion weekly active users. OpenAI said ads are clearly labeled, separated from chatbot responses, and do not affect ChatGPT’s answers. It also said advertisers do not get access to private conversations, while users can control personalization settings. The company said it plans to add more markets, formats, buying options, and measurement tools over time.
