UK finance leaders expect tokenization to reshape financial services
Tokenization is set to reshape UK finance as 71% of leaders back blockchain Discover how faster settlement, liquidity gains and policy moves could drive adoption
A Lloyds Banking Group survey found that 71% of senior UK finance leaders expect tokenization to significantly change financial services as firms explore blockchainbased systems for payments, settlement, and liquidity management.
The survey polled 100 decisionmakers across major UK banks, insurers, asset managers, and financial sponsors. Faster payments and settlement were the mostcited benefits, followed by better collateral and liquidity management.
The article also notes that UK policymakers are pushing tokenization into broader financial infrastructure, including work on near24/7 settlement and crossborder coordination with the US. Lloyds said it has already tested tokenized deposits in a blockchain transaction involving a tokenized UK government bond.
