Fraser Canyon wildfires continue to threaten residents and property

Wildfires in B.C.'s Fraser Canyon are still threatening nearby residents and properties as crews work to contain two growing blazes near Boston Bar. Officials say the Ainslie Creek fire has grown to more than 15,500 hectares, while the Brunswick Creek fire across the river is estimated at about 2,600 hectares. The fires have already destroyed several homes, and fire crews are focusing their efforts on the outofcontrol complex. Blue Lake Resort, north of Boothroyd, is among the hardest hit areas. The site has been left with downed trees and scattered debris, and a resort manager who lost his home in the fire said the experience has been deeply stressful, even as morale remains strong. An evacuation alert is in place for the Ainslie Creek wildfire, while the Brunswick Creek fire has two evacuation alerts and seven evacuation orders in effect.
