B.C. woman’s accused stalker denied bail

Stalking charge in Surrey: man denied bail after alleged harassment and breaches Victim relief grows as the case returns to court May 11

A Chilliwack man accused of stalking a Surrey, B.C., woman and breaching his release conditions has been denied bail, according to the BC Prosecution Service. Andy Kyungho Yun, 48, appeared in Surrey Provincial Court on Tuesday for a bail hearing and was ordered detained. The alleged victim said the decision brought her a major sense of relief after months of stress. Court documents and claims described in the report say Yun was arrested in Chilliwack on April 26 after being wanted on four outstanding warrants. He faces charges of criminal harassment, including allegations that he repeatedly contacted and referenced the woman online, showed up at her workplace, and breached earlier release conditions. The woman said she had known Yun as a former colleague years ago but never dated him. She told Global News the harassment escalated across social media and messaging platforms, eventually affecting her work and mental health. Yun is due back in court on May 11.
