Peterborough man charged in missing son case

Ontario murder charge in Michael Walker case after missing-person probe See how police linked the disappearance to a suspected homicide investigation

Ontario Provincial Police say an 81yearold Peterborough man has been charged with seconddegree murder in connection with the disappearance of his son, Michael Walker. Police said the case began on Jan. 7, 2024, after a family member reported that 58yearold Walker of Norland could not be reached and was believed to be missing. Investigators later concluded there was evidence suggesting foul play. Bazil Walker was arrested on Sept. 16, 2026, and also faces a charge of indignity to a dead body. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24.
