U.S. stocks were mixed at midday on Monday as investors moved money between semiconductor shares and the broader market. Several companies posted notable gains and losses on companyspecific news, analyst actions and index changes.
Comcast rose after announcing plans to spin off its NBCUniversal and Sky media assets, while Rocket Lab jumped on news that it will acquire Iridium Communications in a deal that combines launch services with satellite communications. Charter Communications also advanced after a report said it had held exclusive talks with SpaceX on a consumer phone product.
Alphabet climbed after joining the Dow Jones Industrial Average, replacing Verizon, which fell after warning of a large secondquarter loss tied to assets classified as held for sale. Other movers included TopBuild, AppLovin, SpaceX, Martin Marietta Materials, TeraWulf, Quantinuum and Doximity.
