The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman Emil Andrae to a twoyear contract reportedly worth $3.1 million US.
Andrae, 24, played 61 games for the Philadelphia Flyers last season and finished with 13 points. The Swedish blueliner joined Toronto last month in a trade involving goalie Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit.
Originally selected 54th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, Andrae has 20 points in 107 career games. The signing is part of a busy roster reshaping period for Toronto under general manager John Chayka, who has added several players since free agency opened.
