Fraser Canyon wildfire evacuation orders expand in B.C. as Brunswick Creek burns See the latest alerts, affected areas, and where evacuees can get support
Evacuation orders in British Columbia’s Fraser Canyon have expanded as the Brunswick Creek wildfire continues to burn out of control.
Officials said the latest evacuation call affects the Hells Gate area, downstream from Boston Bar, while additional properties along Scuzzy Creek Forest Service Road on the west side of the Fraser River were also included.
The Fraser Valley Regional District had earlier ordered remaining residents in Boston Bar to leave after a new fire started south of the community and spread quickly in strong winds. An evacuee reception centre has been set up at McArthur Island Sports Centre in Kamloops for those displaced by the Brunswick Complex Wildfire.
