DeSantis touts Florida record at rally for GOP congressional candidate
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis backs Dan Green in Osceola County and pushes Florida-style tax cuts, school choice and bold conservative governing.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis campaigned in Osceola County on Tuesday night for Republican Dan Green, framing the race for Florida’s 9th Congressional District as part of a broader effort to bring Floridastyle governing to Washington.
In remarks in St. Cloud, south of Orlando, DeSantis highlighted his administration’s focus on education policy, lower state spending and conflicts with major institutions, arguing that his approach offers a model for other Republicans. He pointed to Florida’s budget reductions, debt repayment, tax relief measures and school choice policies as evidence of what he called a successful conservative record.
DeSantis also revisited his fights with Disney, public health officials and other political opponents, saying he has preferred direct confrontation over compromise. He urged voters to support his party in the midterm elections and backed Florida Amendment 3, which would open the door to eliminating nonschool property taxes.
