Sakana AI launches Fugu to reduce vendor lock-in in enterprise AI

Fugu AI helps enterprises cut vendor lock-in with multi-agent routing Compare standard and Ultra versions for coding, research, and security tasks

Sakana AI has introduced Fugu, a multiagent orchestration model designed to help enterprises reduce dependence on a single AI vendor. The system uses one OpenAIcompatible endpoint while routing tasks internally across a pool of different models. The company says Fugu can either answer directly or coordinate specialist agents for more complex work such as coding, research, analysis, and security testing. Sakana AI positions the product as a way to improve continuity if access to a specific provider changes because of technical issues, regulation, or export controls. Two versions are available: the standard model for lowerlatency everyday use and Fugu Ultra for more demanding multistep tasks. Sakana AI says the Ultra version performed competitively in benchmark tests and was used by early testers in code review, cybersecurity, and research workflows.
