Google Cloud launches Workbench Notebooks extension for VS Code

Google Cloud Workbench extension connects VS Code to cloud notebook workflows Run notebooks on scalable cloud compute and speed up your data science work

Google Cloud has released the Workbench Notebooks extension for Visual Studio Code, giving data scientists and developers a way to connect a local editor with cloudbased notebook workflows. The extension is designed to help users run notebooks on Google Cloud Workbench while keeping their usual VS Code setup. It also aims to reduce switching between local and cloud environments, making it easier to move from experimentation to scalable compute. According to Google, the extension is open source and can be installed from the VS Code Marketplace. Users can authenticate with a Google Cloud account, choose a project, and select an active Workbench instance to start using cloud resources from within VS Code.
