OpenAI explains how admins can connect AI use to business value
OpenAI analytics for ChatGPT Work and Codex reveal usage, spend, and outcomes Track AI impact, spot training gaps, and connect results to business metrics
OpenAI has introduced new analytics for ChatGPT Work and Codex that help admins and business leaders understand how teams use AI, what tasks it supports, and how that usage relates to business outcomes.
The tools bring together usage, spend, task insights, and outcome metrics in the ChatGPT Admin Console. Admins can review adoption trends, identify where support or training is needed, and examine which workflows are using the most credits.
The company says the analytics can also help teams measure results such as time saved, quality improvements, and operational impact. For Codex, the Outcomes view tracks contributions to merged commits and lines of code, while the Admin plugin and API can be used to create reports or connect AI data with internal business systems.
OpenAI also included a hypothetical sales example showing how time saved on account research could be translated into estimated capacity value, while noting that the figures are illustrative and not guarantees. The post highlights customer examples from 1Password, ATV Big Air Tour, and Playco as cases where AI has been used to support engineering, operations, and product development.
