Comcast shares climbed after the company said it will separate its media businesses, including NBCUniversal and Sky, from the rest of the company. The move is expected to take about a year, with leadership changes planned as part of the spinoff.
Rocket Lab and Iridium Communications rose after Rocket Lab announced plans to acquire Iridium, combining launch services with a satellite communications network. SpaceX also advanced after Nasdaq said it will be added to the Nasdaq 100 index before trading on July 7.
Other notable premarket moves included Charter Communications, which jumped on a report about exclusive talks with SpaceX over a consumer phone product, while Alphabet gained ahead of its first day in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
