Environment Canada has lifted a tornado warning for parts of southwestern Ontario after a severe thunderstorm moved through the region on Thursday evening.
The warning was issued shortly after 6 p.m. for areas including ChathamKent and Rondeau Park, but was later ended as the storm tracked over Moraviantown and moved east at about 40 km/h.
Residents in the affected area had also been told to watch for damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain, with communities such as Thamesville, Ridgetown, Highgate and Rodney in the potential path. Environment Canada urged people to keep monitoring weather updates as the system moved through.
