Toronto mayoral race narrows as Chow’s lead falls to seven points

Toronto mayoral race tightens as Olivia Chow leads Brad Bradford 47% to 40% Cost of living tops voter concerns in a new poll ahead of the 2026 election

A new poll suggests the Toronto mayoral race is becoming more competitive, with incumbent Olivia Chow still ahead but by a smaller margin than before. Liaison Strategies found Chow at 47 per cent among decided and leaning voters, while challenger Brad Bradford was at 40 per cent. Chris Alexander was in third place with 10 per cent. The pollster said Chow’s lead has narrowed from 11 points to seven, but added that the result does not yet point to a clear new trend. The survey also found that cost of living remained voters’ top concern, followed by housing affordability, crime and safety, and congestion. The poll was taken after the first allcandidates debate in the race, and the citywide election is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2026.
