Woman missing, man seriously burned after Mission house fire
Mission house fire leaves man burned and woman missing after morning blaze RCMP investigate possible laundry room origin as crews search for answers
A man was hospitalized in serious condition and a woman was reported missing after a house fire in Mission, B.C., on Monday morning.
RCMP said emergency crews were called to a detached home on Townshipline Avenue around 8 a.m. PT. Firefighters found a 69yearold man with severe burns, and police said a 46yearold woman was still unaccounted for.
Police said the man may have gone into the burning home to look for the woman before being pulled out and taken to hospital by ambulance and airlift. Officials said he is expected to survive. The fire is under investigation, but it is not believed to be suspicious, and investigators think it may have started in the laundry room.
