Daniel Munie earns first MLS All-Star nod as San Jose's defense surges in 2026 See how the Earthquakes standout helped anchor a Western Conference contender

San Jose Earthquakes defender Daniel Munie was selected for the 2026 MLS AllStar Game and appeared in the exhibition against Liga MX in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday. Munie entered in the second half and replaced Tim Ream. It was the first AllStar nod of the 26yearold’s MLS career. The St. Louis native is in his fourth MLS season after being drafted 10th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft out of Indiana. He has helped San Jose strengthen its defense this year, with the Earthquakes tied for first in the Western Conference and allowing far fewer goals than they did in 2025.
