Ottawa to provide $9.8 million for Canada Soccer training centre planning

Canada Soccer training centre gets $9.8M for planning and design Support a high-performance hub with community spaces and local access

The federal government says it will give Canada Soccer $9.8 million to support work on a proposed national training centre. The funding, announced Friday, will cover planning, design, and preconstruction through the Build Communities Strong Fund. Secretary of State for Sport Adam van Koeverden said the investment is part of Ottawa’s broader plan to support sports infrastructure across Canada. He said the project is intended to help athletes train at a higher level while also creating more accessible spaces for youth and community recreation. Canada Soccer says the centre would combine highperformance training with communityfocused facilities. The organization has already received 18 expressions of interest from municipalities and other potential partners, and a request for proposals is expected to begin within the next two months.
