Man hospitalized after house fire in Vaughan
Vaughan house fire leaves 68-year-old man hospitalized after rescue from home York police and fire marshal investigate as crews continue to secure the scene
A 68yearold man was taken to hospital after a house fire in Vaughan on Thursday night, according to York Regional Police.
Police said officers were called to a home on Ellerby Square, near Kipling Avenue and Highway 7, around 10:45 p.m. on May 6. Fire crews arrived and found that one person was unaccounted for.
Vaughan fire crews searched the home and removed the man, who was found unresponsive. Deputy Fire Chief Grant Moffat said CPR was performed for about 20 minutes before paramedics transported him to hospital.
York Regional Police said the scene remains secured while the Ontario Fire Marshal investigates. Paramedics did not comment on the man’s condition because of privacy rules.
