Warsh names members of Fed task forces
Federal Reserve task forces review communications, data, balance sheet, and policy See the outside experts helping Warsh push Fed changes and improve performance
Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh has named the members of five task forces created to review parts of the central bank’s operations, including communications, data, the balance sheet, productivity and jobs, and the framework for inflation policy.
The list includes prominent figures from business, finance and academia such as Marc Andreessen, former Bank of England Governor Mervyn King, former White House economic adviser Greg Mankiw, and former Walmart CEO Doug McMillon.
Warsh said the goal is to bring in outside expertise to improve the Fed’s performance as an institution. The Fed did not provide a timeline for the task forces’ work, though Warsh has said he expects changes later this year.
