Toronto Argonauts release kicker Brady Lidster after mixed rookie stretch Lirim Hajrullahu expected back Monday as Toronto eyes a Labour Day rebound
The Toronto Argonauts have released Canadian rookie kicker Brady Lidster, according to a report by The Canadian Press.
Lidster, 21, from St. Thomas, Ontario, had handled kicking duties for Toronto since the team’s 2423 loss to the Hamilton TigerCats on July 18. In that game, veteran Lirim Hajrullahu missed a potential gameending field goal and a convert.
Hajrullahu did not play in Toronto’s next game, a 2612 road win over the B.C. Lions, with the team listing his absence as not injuryrelated. He later appeared on the injury report with a hamstring issue.
In five games with Toronto, Lidster went 15 for 21 on field goals and 8 for 12 on convert attempts. Hajrullahu has made 12 of 18 field goals and 18 of 20 converts this season.
The report says Hajrullahu is expected to return Monday when Toronto visits Hamilton in the annual Labour Day matchup.
