Reid Hoffman to leave Microsoft's board at year-end

Reid Hoffman, the LinkedIn cofounder, will step down from Microsoft’s board of directors at the end of the year after nearly a decade of service. Microsoft said Hoffman told the board he would not stand for reelection and will remain a director until the company’s annual meeting later this year. Hoffman joined the board in 2017, shortly after Microsoft bought LinkedIn for $27 billion. Hoffman said he wants to focus more fully on Manas, a startup he cofounded that describes itself as an AInative biopharmaceutical company. He previously left OpenAI’s board in 2023 to avoid potential conflicts tied to Microsoft’s close partnership with the artificial intelligence company.
