Taylor Farms recalls iceberg lettuce in 27 states after cyclosporiasis outbreak

Taylor Farms is voluntarily recalling iceberg lettuce distributed in 27 states after health officials linked the product to a cyclosporiasis outbreak.
The company said it is removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market. The recalled shredded iceberg product was distributed from June 29 through July 16 in states including Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts and Texas.
The outbreak has also affected Taco Bell, which removed the lettuce from its restaurants before the recall announcement. Walmart said it pulled four bagged iceberg lettuce salad products from select stores as a precaution after receiving notice from its supplier. The FDA says Cyclospora infection can cause flulike symptoms and watery diarrhea.
