Peel Public Health investigates measles exposure linked to June 13 travel

Peel Public Health is investigating a measles exposure tied to a confirmed case from June 13 and says some travellers may have been exposed on two flights and at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The agency said people on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET552 from Addis Ababa to Toronto, Air Canada flight AC410 from Toronto to Montreal, and anyone in Terminal 1 of Pearson between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day should review their immunization records. It recommended ensuring they have two doses of a measles vaccine and noted that people born before 1970 are generally considered protected. Health officials are also asking anyone with symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, light sensitivity, or a rash to stay home and contact a doctor. Peel Public Health said it is directly reaching out to those it believes may have been exposed and added that the overall risk in the region remains low.
