Deutsche Bank awaits approval for institutional crypto custody
Deutsche Bank crypto custody for institutions launches with Bitcoin, Ether and stablecoins See how MiCA approval could open secure digital asset services across Europe
Deutsche Bank is waiting for regulatory approval to launch digital asset custody services for institutional and corporate clients in Europe. The offering is expected to begin with Bitcoin, Ether, and selected stablecoins, with tokenized financial instruments planned for a later stage.
The bank said it aims to go live with initial clients this year, depending on the timing of the approval process. A spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the custody license is expected in October under the European Union’s Markets in CryptoAssets (MiCA) framework.
The move adds to Deutsche Bank’s broader push into digital assets. The bank had previously signaled interest in crypto custody and stablecoins, and it is joining other German lenders that have started offering similar services since MiCA took full effect in July.
