WINNIPEG — Toronto used a late specialteams sequence and a 36yard field goal from Lirim Hajrullahu with 27 seconds left to beat Winnipeg 3028 on Friday night.
Janarion Grant helped set up the winning drive after fielding a punt and laterally passing to Dave Ungerer for a 32yard gain. Grant also returned a missed field goal for a touchdown in the first quarter, part of a strong specialteams performance for Toronto.
Chad Kelly threw two touchdown passes as the Argonauts improved to 96 and extended their winning streak to four games. Winnipeg, now 77, got a 76yard touchdown run from backup quarterback Bryce Perkins and two passing touchdowns from Dru Brown, but the Blue Bombers could not hold the lead in the final minutes.
