Héma-Québec launches summer campaign to encourage blood and plasma donations

HémaQuébec has started a provincewide summer outreach campaign during National Blood Donor Week to encourage people in Quebec to donate blood and plasma throughout the vacation season. The agency says demand for blood products stays steady in summer, even as routines change and many people travel or spend less time at home. It plans to appear at festivals, sports events and community gatherings across the province to raise awareness and book appointments. The campaign includes stops at events in Montreal, Jonquière, Shawinigan, Quebec City and other locations. HémaQuébec is also highlighting donation needs within Black communities, including awareness around sickle cell disease, and has launched a running challenge to promote plasma donations across Quebec.
