One person died after an overnight fire at a residential building in SorelTracy, Que., police said Monday.
Quebec provincial police said the blaze likely began around 2 a.m. Sunday on the second floor of a threestorey building on Ramezay Street near Adélaïde Street. Firefighters found an unconscious person inside during the response.
The victim was taken to hospital, where they were later declared dead. Police are notifying the next of kin, and an investigation is underway to determine what caused the fire.
