Maple Leafs add Brackett and Hamilton in front-office changes

The Toronto Maple Leafs expanded their front office on Monday by hiring Judd Brackett as assistant general manager and Freddie Hamilton as chief of staff.
Brackett most recently served as the Minnesota Wild’s director of amateur scouting, after spending 12 years with the Vancouver Canucks organization. In Toronto, he will be responsible for amateur and professional player evaluation.
Hamilton, a former NHL player, joins the club after earning an MBA from Yale University and working in private equity. The moves are part of a broader organizational reset under general manager John Chayka, who arrived last month with senior adviser Mats Sundin. The team also dismissed head coach Craig Berube after a disappointing 202526 season. Toronto now holds the first overall pick in the upcoming NHL draft after winning the lottery.
