Trump says Lindsey Graham’s heart condition was almost undetectable

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s heart condition was nearly impossible to detect, based on medical briefings he said he received from White House doctors. Trump made the comments during an Oval Office meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali alZaidi. He also said that a persistent back problem could be a warning sign, noting that Graham had mentioned back pain in the past. The remarks came after questions about reports that FBI agents were seen at Graham’s home. FBI Director Kash Patel has said the bureau is helping local authorities with the death investigation, but Trump dismissed speculation about wrongdoing and said the FBI would be wasting time if it pursued conspiracy theories. Graham died Saturday in Washington, D.C., one day after returning from Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. His office said preliminary findings point to an aortic dissection caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, though the official cause of death is still pending additional testing.
