Coinbase launches regulated crypto derivatives in Canada

Coinbase crypto derivatives in Canada bring eligible traders futures and 10x leverage Access 23 contracts, major assets, and the Coinbase 50 Index through Coinbase Financial Markets

Coinbase has started offering regulated crypto derivatives to eligible customers in Canada, including perpetual and dated futures linked to Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and other assets. The rollout gives qualified traders access to up to 10x leverage through Coinbase Financial Markets. The company said the product line includes 23 crypto futures contracts, five commodity futures and the Coinbase 50 Index. Access is restricted to eligible Canadian clients, including investors with at least $5 million in net financial assets as well as registered advisers and dealers. The move comes as other US trading platforms expand in Canada. Webull recently added crypto trading for Canadian users through Coinbase infrastructure, and Robinhood entered the market earlier this year through its acquisition of WonderFi. At the same time, Canadian regulators have been tightening oversight of parts of the crypto sector.
