Alibaba Qwen AI powers Apple Intelligence in China, boosting app and device AI See what the approved rollout means for users across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro
Alibaba’s U.S.listed shares rose in premarket trading after the company said its Qwen AI model will be integrated into Apple Intelligence for users in China.
An Alibaba spokesperson said the model will work across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS, giving users access to text and image understanding and generation within Apple’s AI features. China’s cyberspace regulator has already approved Apple AI services for use in the market.
The move comes after a long approval process for Apple’s AI rollout in China and amid rising competition between the U.S. and China in artificial intelligence. Alibaba’s shares were up about 3.7% during the session, while Apple had not yet commented.
