SpaceX sets earnings date, triggering first major share unlock
SpaceX shares jump as Aug. 4 earnings and lock-up expiry approach Watch insider selling, launch updates and stock moves before the report
SpaceX shares rose 3% after the company announced it will report secondquarter results on Aug. 4, a date that also starts its first major lockup expiration. The release will allow some insiders to sell part of their holdings earlier than the usual 180day waiting period.
Under SpaceX’s staggered lockup plan, eligible insiders could sell 20% of their lockedup shares on the second full trading day after the earnings release, which would be Aug. 6. The company said an additional 10% could become available if the stock meets a priceperformance threshold before the report.
The announcement comes after a volatile period for the stock, which had fallen sharply from its recent highs and attracted heavier short interest. SpaceX is also preparing several rocket launches, including a Falcon 9 mission and a Starship test flight, as investors watch the company’s progress in launch operations and satellite services.
