Advance polls open in Quebec election
Quebec election advance polls open as voters head to the first voting days Cast your ballot Sunday or Monday before Oct. 5 and stay ahead of the race
MONTREAL — Quebec voters can begin casting ballots in the province’s general election as advance polls open for the first of two voting days.
People may vote on Sunday and Monday between 9:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. ahead of the Oct. 5 election. The campaign has focused in recent days on claims of foreign interference, including warnings from Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette that Americans could try to back the sovereigntist Parti Québécois to weaken Canada.
Fréchette said there was no evidence of interference in the current race. Five parties are expected to win seats: the Coalition Avenir Québec, Parti Québécois, Quebec Liberals, Quebec Conservatives and Québec solidaire.
