New evacuation order issued for Boston Bar area amid wildfires

Boston Bar evacuation order: wildfire updates for BC properties at risk See which areas are affected and what residents must do now

A new evacuation order has been issued for the Boston Bar area in British Columbia as two wildfires continue to burn out of control nearby. The Brunswick Creek and Ainslie Creek fires are both several thousand hectares in size and have already led to earlier evacuation measures in the region. Fraser Valley Regional District chair Patricia Ross said seven properties in the Ainslie Creek area were affected in the past 24 hours, including homes, seasonal cabins, and other structures. The order applies to properties in Electoral Area A that had previously been under evacuation alert. Residents are being told to leave immediately, close all windows and doors, take essential items, and head south on Highway 1 or follow instructions from first responders. Canada Post also says the Boston Bar post office is closed and incoming mail is being stored offsite for safety.
