Israeli strikes on southern Lebanese town kill 11, state news agency says
Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon kill 11 in Kfar Rumman, including children See the latest on the renewed border violence and its toll on civilians
Israeli airstrikes on the southern Lebanese town of Kfar Rumman killed at least 11 people early Monday, including two children and two medics, according to Lebanon's state news agency. The strikes also wounded several others, including children and women.
The town was hit shortly after midnight when a residential building was struck, followed by a separate drone strike on a civilian vehicle. Lebanese authorities said no evacuation warning had been issued before the attacks.
The strikes came amid renewed fighting along the IsraelLebanon border, despite a June ceasefire meant to reduce hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. Lebanon says Israeli attacks have continued in the south, often without advance warning.
