LAFC parts ways with coach Marc Dos Santos after poor run

LAFC fires Marc Dos Santos after one win in 10 matches and a rough stretch See what it means for the playoff push and who could step in next

Los Angeles FC has fired head coach Marc Dos Santos after a difficult stretch that included just one win in the team’s past 10 matches, the club announced on Sunday. John Thorrington, LAFC’s president of soccer operations, said the club appreciated Dos Santos’ work and commitment, while noting that the results did not meet the organization’s expectations. Dos Santos was in his first season as head coach after several years as an assistant with LAFC. The club has not yet named an interim coach and still has six regularseason matches left, beginning with a home game against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Oct. 10.
