RCMP says sunken B.C. charter must be recovered carefully for evidence

RCMP say the sunken fishing charter in the Strait of Georgia near Richmond, British Columbia, must be recovered carefully because it is part of an active investigation. The vessel is resting about 150 metres below the ocean surface after sinking on June 28.
Police said it is still unclear whether any victims remain inside the boat. Witness accounts suggest more people were in the water than the four who were rescued. Ten people were on board, and one of the rescued passengers later died in hospital.
Investigators say they are working with partner agencies to find safe ways to raise the vessel. The search team previously used an underwater drone to locate the boat, but no bodies were seen. The company operating the charter, Top Vancouver Fishing Charter, has also faced Transport Canada action over safety concerns.
