Todd Gordon outlines a new growth stock trade idea as markets cool
Growth stock selloff drives Todd Gordon to wait for market confirmation before shifting Tactical Alpha toward AI names like Astera Labs
Todd Gordon, founder of Inside Edge Capital, said he is waiting for more confirmation before making portfolio changes tied to the growth stock selloff that began last week. In a CNBC Pro column published June 9, he compared investing to horse racing, arguing that investors can adjust positions as new data arrives, unlike a fixed bet.
Gordon said a strongerthanexpected U.S. payrolls report and a sharp weekly drop in the Nasdaq changed the setup for his planned updates to the Tactical Alpha Growth portfolio. He noted that technology is slated to receive a larger allocation if the market stabilizes, with Astera Labs highlighted as a potential addition because of its exposure to AI infrastructure.
He pointed to Astera Labs’ recent revenue growth, expanding margins, and analyst estimates that call for continued growth in the next two years. Gordon said he is watching whether the S&P 500 and the broader growth trade can hold recent support levels before deploying the changes.
