Trump announces new WHCA Dinner venue for July
White House Correspondents' Dinner returns in July with tighter security Trump speaks at the Waldorf Astoria event after April's evacuation scare
President Donald Trump said the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Dinner will be held in July at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C.
The annual event was disrupted in April when gunfire at the Washington Hilton forced guests and officials to evacuate. Organizers said the revised dinner will be smaller and include stronger security measures.
Trump said he accepted an invitation to speak at the event and noted that the Waldorf Astoria is located in a building he once developed. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also said she plans to attend.
