Trump assassination attempt case details and surveillance video reveal key evidence See how prosecutors say Cole Allen breached security and what comes next
Surveillance video released by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro shows Cole Allen at the Washington Hilton on April 24 and again the following night near the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, where President Donald Trump was scheduled to speak.
According to prosecutors, Allen entered the hotel a day earlier to inspect the area, then returned on April 25 and ran through a Secret Service checkpoint with a shotgun. Officers fired at him as he moved through the security area, and he was later tackled at the scene.
Allen, 31, is charged with attempting to assassinate Trump and with related firearms offenses. Prosecutors say he also had other weapons with him, and the case remains under investigation.
