Residents in SaintHyacinthe, Que., are mourning the death of a 13yearold girl who was struck by a truck while riding her bike on Wednesday. The victim’s mother, Véronique Fournier, said she has been comforted by messages and support from the public as people gathered at the intersection of Laframboise Boulevard and Martineau Street to leave flowers and stuffed animals. According to the Sûreté du Québec, the girl was travelling northbound on Laframboise Boulevard when the truck turned. Fournier said her daughter was returning from school and had nearly reached the bike path when the collision happened.
