Microsoft expands testing of Scout across Microsoft 365

Microsoft has begun broader testing of Scout, a new Autopilot feature introduced at Microsoft Build, according to a company blog post published on June 4, 2026. The tool is designed to act as an autonomous agent across Microsoft 365 apps such as Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. Microsoft says Scout can help coordinate information across these services by scheduling meetings, flagging important messages, generating calendar events, and adapting to a user’s work habits over time. The company describes Autopilots as a new category of agents that can operate under separate rules for home or work use. The rollout is limited to a select group of customers and Frontier organizations. Microsoft says the system is built with enterprise security controls, uses Microsoft Purview for data protection policy, and requires human approval for sensitive actions. The company also said it plans to contribute back to the opensource OpenClaw project that underpins Scout.
