Several U.S. stocks moved sharply in midday trading on Tuesday as investors reacted to quarterly earnings, guidance changes, and analyst actions.
CleanSpark rose 11% after it secured a 20year data center lease in Georgia tied to $6.6 billion in contracted revenue. Goldman Sachs gained 7% after reporting secondquarter results that topped Wall Street estimates, while JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America also advanced after beating expectations. Wells Fargo and Citigroup fell despite reporting results that were stronger than analysts had expected.
Among other notable moves, HCA Healthcare dropped more than 7% after cutting its fullyear earnings forecast, IBM plunged 25% after issuing weakerthanexpected preliminary secondquarter earnings, and Apple slipped 1% following a downgrade from KeyBanc. Ericsson, OI Glass, and MBX Biosciences also declined after weaker results, a downgrade, and a leadership change, respectively.
