Blue Jays place Trey Yesavage on 15-day injured list with knee inflammation

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed righthander Trey Yesavage on the 15day injured list because of left knee inflammation. Yesavage left Tuesday’s 72 loss to the Houston Astros after two innings when his knee appeared to buckle during warmup for the third inning. Manager John Schneider said the pitcher felt a pinching sensation that made it difficult to balance. The 23yearold had gone 55 with a 3.65 ERA in 18 starts this season. He had already missed the start of the year while recovering from a shoulder injury and did not make his season debut until April 28. Toronto also optioned Chad Dallas to TripleA Buffalo and recalled righthanders Lazaro Estrada and Chase Lee ahead of Wednesday’s rematch in Houston. Schneider said Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was out of the lineup because of fatigue, not injury.
