One person dead after vehicle strike during Toronto fight

Toronto police say one person has died and another was injured after a fight in the Keele Street and Wilson Avenue area early Sunday morning. Investigators say a large group was fighting when an argument escalated. During the incident, a man was injured and then struck by a lightcoloured vehicle that left the scene. Police said lifesaving efforts were attempted, but the man was later pronounced dead. The second person was taken to hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries. Homicide detectives are investigating, and police say they believe the incident was contained to the area with no broader public risk.
