A Quebecbased RCMP officer has been arrested after allegedly posting threatening comments about U.S. President Donald Trump on Snapchat, according to the force.
The RCMP said the officer, Evenson Dumerlus, 34, of StJeansurRichelieu, was taken off duty after the video was reported and reviewed. The alleged incident is said to have happened during G7 security operations in June 2025.
Dumerlus has been charged with uttering threats and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30 in StJeansurRichelieu. The RCMP said it treats threats seriously and that violent statements will not be tolerated.
