B.C. police oversight agency probes Saanich arrest injury after Friday response Witness details could help investigators review whether force use caused harm
British Columbia’s civilian police oversight agency is investigating after a man was injured during an arrest in Saanich on Friday.
According to the Independent Investigations Office of B.C., police responded to a report of a possible assault on Woodhall Drive and spent several hours negotiating while containing the area.
When the man left the residence, officers arrested him and used a service dog and lesslethal force weapons. The man was then taken to hospital for assessment and treatment. The IIO is asking any witnesses to contact investigators as it reviews whether police actions may be linked to the injuries.
