Emergency crews responded on Friday after two passenger trains collided near Bedford, England, in a crash that killed one person and injured 89 others.
Authorities said the incident happened near Elstow around 5:15 p.m. local time and was treated as a major emergency. The East of England Ambulance Service reported 11 people with very serious injuries, 22 with serious injuries, and 56 with minor injuries.
More than 20 ambulances, specialist response teams and six air ambulances were sent to the scene. Officials urged the public to stay away while investigators and rescue workers dealt with the crash.
