Quebec anti-corruption unit raids Air Liaison offices in Quebec City

Quebec’s anticorruption unit, UPAC, searched the offices of regional airline Air Liaison in Quebec City on Tuesday, according to RadioCanada. Investigators were reportedly on site for most of the day, but authorities have not confirmed whether a formal investigation is underway. Air Liaison said it is cooperating with authorities and that its operations are continuing normally. The company said services should not be affected and declined to comment on any possible actions taken by investigators. The airline serves several small communities on Quebec’s Lower North Shore that are not connected to the road network, including La Romaine, TêteàlaBaleine and SaintAugustin. The raid came one day after a civil trial began in Quebec Superior Court involving Air Liaison and Central Mountain Air over claims of unfair competition and confidential information.
